We're back!

It's been a while since I put anything up here, for which I apologise (as if you care!), but a lot has been happening...

The Mac, as you know, succumbed to the oddest of circumstances. I installed an update to the OS, but unfortunately, due to the crappy Broadband which us rural Cornish-dwellers have to endure (thanks BT for your 21st century overhead phone lines and 18th century customer service) it got corrupted while downloading and killed the Mac.

Thankfully, once m'main man - MacManLee (www.macmanlee.co.uk) got on the case it was simply a case of performing his usual routine miracle cure and we're up and running again.

Have also had lots of family visitors this last couple of weeks. That wouldn't normally stop me posting, but one of them was my muvver, who's an octogenarian, and we've just bought her a new Windows7 laptop.

She's doing really well, but the learning curve has been, of necessity pretty steep, and I've been spending a lot of time with her on that.

I'm also the new webmaster for National Coastwatch, which was ironic considering the first thing that happened was the Mac dying and reducing my online capability severely, but I'm catching up with that too.

This weekend I'll be setting up Muvver's broadband in London, which has been promised to be between 3 and 8Mbps - what a joy after Cornwall, where on a good day I get 300kbps. Even as we speak I'm not listening to Spotify because the download speed is too low!

So once I get back (and I'm sure the journey will be horrible) I'll get back to regular moaning and groaning and hopefully mildly humorous bitching.

In the meantime have a good weekend, and remember - Noli illegitima carborundum!
